Abstract
Contrary to the view of Magnus (Arch. exp. Path. Pharm., 48, 100), H. finds that the NH3 content of the blood of dogs increases from about 0.001 to 0.022% after breathing NH3, showing that the lungs are permeable to NH3. Blood containing 0.095% NH3 does not give it up to a stream of air in 10 min.; with H2S the value is 0.000185%.
