Abstract
The Inuit community of Pond Inlet, on the north end of Baffin Island, are caught between the world of their parents and the modern world. They hunt for food, an average family needing up to three seals a week, using modern rifles, boats and snowmobiles. In order to pay for these, women are having to try to get a job, though these are limited in the area. Since the decline of the seal skin market, further sources of income have been lost. -R.C.Medler
