1-Amino-3-[4-(N-2-chlorethyl-N-methylamino)phenyl]propane was obtained from N-2-chloroethyl-N-methylaniline according to the scheme, including vinylformylation by Jutz, a reaction with hydroxylamine and simultaneous hydrogenation of the oxime group and the ethylenic bond. The method of synthesis of 4(N-2-chloroethyl-N-methylamino)benzylamine was improved while adjusting the conditions of hydrogenation. The synthesized reagent is used for specific modification of nucleic acids.
