Abstract The rapid process of industrialization and FDI in China over the past few years has resulted in degradation in air quality. This paper studies the effect of FDI and air pollution to health in China using the panel data of 30 cities from 2003 to 2006. The results show that FDI and SO(2) has significantly positive effect to the mortality, while PM(10) and NO(2) doesn't have such significant effect, and there is obvious regional effect with SO(2) in eastern region, PM(10) and NO(2) in middle region, and PM(10) in western region has a significant impaction to mortality, so we should do different regional measures to improve the level of health.
