Abstract
Numerous methods have been so far reported for the immobilization of amylases using specific kinds of fixation techniques and supports. Handa et al. have studied the preparation and properties of these enzymes immobilized onto partially imidoesterized polyacrylonitrile (PAN) as the support using an amidination reaction. Glucoamylase (GA) immobilized onto PAN showed a high durability against repeated use and a slight decrease in enzymic activity was observed after reusing it 10 times for the enzyme reaction. This communication is concerned with the preparation and properties of immobilized GA covalently attached to alternative acrylonitrile-butadiene (AB) copolymer.
