IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP The antihepatotoxic effects of Phyllanthus niruri, Tinospora cordifolia, and Ricinus communis were studied in rats. The ethyl alcohol (ethanol) extract of P. niruri exhibited statistically significant antihepatotoxic activity. The chloroform extract of T. cordifolia and the alcoholic and chloroform extracts of R. communis did not demonstrate antihepatotoxic activity. The alcoholic extract of T. cordifolia decreased liver weight, but did not affect other parameters.
