Two rare-metal leucocratic granites, the Perga and Kamennaya complexes, are described. The Perga complex comprises porphyritic biotite, riebeckite and aegirine granites, granite porphyries, microclinites and albitites with genthelvite, phenakite, tantalite, cassiterite and wolframite. Granites of several stocks in the NW part of the shield restricted the large Korosten pluton of rapakivi granites in this area. The age of these granites (Pb- Pb and U-Pb on zircon and monazite) practically coincide with the age of the rapakivi granites, being 1750 m.y. Within the Korosten complex of rapakivi granites, the zinnwaldite granites with topaz and fluorite mineralization are considered to represent the final phase of the pluton, but differ from the Perga granites in their low content of rare metals. The Kamennaya Moliga complex lies in the SE part of the Ukrainian Shield and consists of biotite and muscovite granites with cassiterite, columbite, molybdenite, wolframite and beryl. These granites form stocks (5-30 km (super 2) ) some 10-30 km WNW of the S Kalchik gabbro-syenite-granite pluton; granitic rocks of both complexes have similar ages of 1800 m.y. Thus the typical rare-metal granites are situated not in the parent plutons but at some distance from them.
