Abstract
"Present mica mining operations in northern Sudan are confined to the Rubatab area on the west bank of the Nile. Like all commercial mica the Rubatab mica occurs in pegmatite bodies associated with meta-sediments of pre-Cambrian age. These meta-sediments represent original calcareous, arenaceous, argillaceous and variable admixtures of these deposits. The pegmatites are of the acidic type and have notably developed tourmaline, garnet, beryl and apatite."
