Emissions from a small, automotive gas turbine burning various alternative fuels were measured. The emission levels of exhaust gases of methanol, ethanol, and isopropyl alcohol are discussed and compared with those of kerosene. Carbon monoxide, total hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, nitric oxide, low molecular hydrocarbons, total aldehyde, formaldehyde, and acrolein emissions were measured. Exhaust emissions levels of nitrogen oxides, nitric oxide, and acrolein are lower with alcohol fuels compared with those of kerosene.
