Abstract
A rickettsia was found in the hepatopancreatic epithelium of an immature female blue king crab, Paralithodes platypus , one of 10 crabs collected during September 1982 in the St. Lawrence Island area, eastern Bering Sea, Alaska (USA). Tissues had been fixed in Helly's solution (with zinc chloride) and stored in 70% isopropyl alcohol for histological examination by light microscopy. Results of the examination are provided.
