Abstract
Reverse reactions such as dehydrogenation of alcohols and hydrogenation of acetone can be used in chemical heat pumps. A chemical heat pump system using isopropanol-acetone-hydrogen was studied. The effects of various parameters, including temperature, on system efficiency were investigated. It was shown that the efficiency may be greater than that obtained in an absorption heat pump.
