Abstract
Thermodynamic properties including density, viscosity and ultrasonic velocity of the binary liquid mixture of ethyl acrylate with higher primary alkane-1-ols namely hexane-1-ol, heptane-1-ol, octane-1-ol and decane-1-ol have been measured over entire range of composition, at 298.15 and 308.15 K temperatures and at atmospheric pressure. These parameters were used in the recently proposed Jouyban-Acree model. These basic properties were used to calculate excess properties like excess molar volume (VE), deviation in viscosity (Îη)) and deviation in isentropic compressibility (κEs). The excess properties further have been fitted to the Redlich-Kister polynomial equation. The mixture viscosities were correlated by Grunberg-Nissan, Tamura and Kurata, McAllister three and four body model equations. Ultrasonic velocities of these binary liquid mixtures were used to calculate intermolecular free length as well as available volume.
