Abstract
The effect of ultrasonic irradiation on electroless copper coating on ceramic in a copper sulphate-potassium sodium tartrate-formaldehyde system was studied in terms of temperature, coating solution composition, acoustic power, frequency and irradiation time with an orthogonal design method in mathematical statistics. Sonication can produce a more uniform and well bonded coating with a faster coating rate compared with a control process. The mechanism of the coating rate increase under sonication is discussed.
