IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP A crossover study comparing the intestinal absorption of aluminum from the antacid hydrotalcite (Ultacit), at a dose of 8 g, with that from algeldrate (Algeldratum des-acidans), at a dose of 6 g, in 8 healthy subjects, aged 23-40 yr, is described. The serum aluminum level was increased in 7 subjects 7 h after intake of 6 g algeldrate while the serum level did not rise after intake of 8 g hydrotalcite in any of the subjects.
