Abstract
IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP A double blind crossover study comparing the effects of 20% aluminum chloride hexahydrate (I) solution in absolute alcohol (II) and II alone on the sweating associated with the excessive excretion of growth hormone in 4 acromegalic patients (age 42-62 yr) is presented. After two 2 month treatment periods, all patients reported a great reduction in sweating while using I solution. A maintenance treatment of one or 2 applications per week controlled symptoms in all patients.
