Abstract
IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP The bioavailability of beta-acetyldigoxin (Novodigal) tablets alone and with the antacid tablet Alucol (aluminum hydroxide-magnesium hydroxide) was compared in 6 healthy male volunteers. Statistical analysis of the areas under the curve for both regimens showed no differences. It was concluded that the absorption of beta-acetyldigoxin is not impaired by the concomitant administration of antacid, unlike other studies that have shown that the absorption of digoxin is impaired when combined with antacid.
