IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP The accelerated decomposition of hyoscyamine (I) in aluminum hydroxide and belladonna, magnesium trisilicate and belladonna; and potassium citrate and hyoscyamus, was carried out on samples stored at either 40 or 60DGC. The stability of I in the supernatants of aluminum hydroxide gel and magnesium trisilicate mixture was also determined. Results obtained suggest that I was relatively more stable in the mixtures than in their corresponding supernatants. Increased stability of I in the mixtures examined is attributed to viscosity due to aluminum hydroxide gel, high electrolyte concentration in potassium citrate and hyoscyamus mixture and adsorption of I in magnesium trisilicate and belladonna mixture.
