Abstract
IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP The effect of desferrioxamine mesylate (deferoxamine mesylate; Desferal mesylate), 6 g in 500 ml of sodium chloride solution once weekly for 10 months, on aluminum mobilization and removal in a 36-yr-old man with dialysis encephalopathy is reported. Results showed that the accumulated removal of aluminum from the patient during the period of treatment is estimated to be 500-600 mg.
