IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP In this continuing review of anti-infective agents, the activity, toxicity and stability of the following compounds are discussed: pyrithione (1-hydroxypyridine-2-thione; Omadine); Vantocil IB, the hydrochloride salt of a polymeric biguanide; 3,4,4"-trichlorocarbanilide (triclocarban); 3-trifluoromethyl-4,4"-dichloro-N,N"-diphenylurea (Anobial TFC); formaldehyde; and several aluminum salts used as antiperspirants. Also discussed are N-(3-chloroallyl)hexaminium chloride (Dowicil 100), undecylenic monoethanolamide (Loramine U 185; Fungicide UMA), 2,2"-dithiobis(N-butylbenzamide) (OD-507), and other closely related compounds. In the concluding article of this series there is a list of the products mentioned in the series and also a list of the manufacturers' addresses. Bibliographic references for the entire series are also included in Part 11.
