Abstract
IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP A brief survey on the value of different drugs in the treatment of gastric ulcers is presented. Antacids, antisecretory drugs and some other drugs are evaluated as to their properties to reduce symptoms, promote healing and prevent complications and relapses. In conclusion, antacids of the magnesium-aluminum hydroxide combination type are given preference. Among newer substances, cimetidine is viewed as promising.
