Abstract
The physical properties of a 50:50 blend of a commercial peroxide-cured epichlorohydrin elastomer and a commercial millable polyester urethane were investigated by measurements of hardness, tensile stress, tensile strength, elongation, tear strength and resistance to oven ageing, ASTM Fuel C (isooctane-toluene blend) and oxidised fuel. The results are discussed in terms of potential uses as hoses, diaphragms and gaskets for automotive or off-the-road applications requiring good resistance to fuels and sour gas.
