IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP The technique of administering nitroglycerin (I) by IV drip, 32 mcg/ml, during the coronary artery bypass surgery, in order to control hypertension and avoid coronary ischemia is described. The pharmacy mixes the I solution the same day it is to be used. The items needed by the pharmacy include 20 0.4 mg tablets, a 20 ml vial of sodium chloride solution for injection, and a Swinnex filter (Millipore).
