Abstract
IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP The principles, activity, comparative efficacy, and potential influence on current treatment modalities, and on patient information regarding proper use and compliance, of transdermal drug delivery systems were discussed. The characteristics of percutaneous absorption and the history of product development as applied to nitroglycerin (Transderm-Nitro; Nitrodisc; Nitro-Dur), scopolamine (Transderm-Scop) and clonidine hydrochloride (Catapres) were also discussed.
