IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP The local application of 2% nitroglycerin (Nitro-Bid; glyceryl trinitrate; I) ointment in the treatment of dopamine induced peripheral digital ischemia is reported in 2 patients (aged 54 and 68 yr). A thin film of I ointment was applied evenly over the ischemic toes, and within 30 min capillary blood flow returned.
