Abstract
IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP The cases of a 25-yr-old woman, a 46-yr-old man, and a 70-yr-old man, who received nitroglycerin sublingual tablets or spray for cholelithiasis pain therapy are reported. After receiving 1 or 2 doses of 0.4-0.5 mg of sublingual nitroglycerin, pain subsided within 30-60 sec and the patients were pain-free for up to 12 h. Nitroglycerin may be a useful alternative to analgesic treatment in acute cholelithiasis.
