Abstract
IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP An acute myocardial infarction attributed to intranasal inhalation of methamphetamine is reported in a 35-yr-old male patient; he was initially treated with an accelerated alteplase regimen, 1000 units/h of heparin sodium, 10 mcg/min of nitroglycerin (reduced from 50 mcg/min when his blood pressure dropped to 77/42 mm Hg), aspirin, and nifedipine. The patient underwent angioplasty for stenosis of the left anterior descending coronary artery and recovered uneventfully.
