Abstract
IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP A case of Stevens-Johnson syndrome that occurred after less than 15 days of diltiazem therapy and that was confirmed by rechallenge is described in a 58-yr-old man who was taking diltiazem along with isosorbide dinitrate, aspirin, and nitroglycerin for angina. The use of nifedipine or verapamil in this patient did not cause reappearance of the syndrome. When diltiazem causes a severe cutaneous reaction, cautious use of other calcium channel blockers is recommended.
