Abstract
IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP Admixtures of 10 ml of MIL 400 mg and 10 ml of either NTG 800 m/L, NIP 800 mg/L, DOP 6400 mg/L, DOB 8000 mg/L, EPI 64 mg/L, or NOR 64 mg/L were prepared in triplicate in glass cylinders and stored at room temperature (22-23 degree C). A 1:1 solution ratio was used to simulate Y-site administration. Samples of 0.5 ml were withdrawn at 0, 1, 2 and 4 hours and assayed in duplicate by stability-indicating high performance liquid chromatography methods. The average percent remaining was greater than 98% and 97% at 4 hours for MIL and all 6 secondary drugs, respectively. No precipitates or pH changes were observed. MIL 400 mg/L is compatible with NTG 800 mg/L, NIP 800 mg/L, DOP 6400 mg/L, DOB 8000 mg/L, EPI 64 mg/L or NOR 64 mg/L and can be safely administered under Y-site conditions.
