Abstract
IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP To determine the efficacy of Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) extracts as potential sunscreen agents, a base/acid extract, dry extract, and fluid extract of rosemary were prepared and their sun protection factors were determined. At a concentration of 2 mcl/ml, the extracts had an intense absorption in the ultraviolet B region. The greatest degree of sun protection was obtained with the base/acid extract, followed by the dry extract and then the fluid extract.
