IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP Color, pH and TLC were identified as worthwhile methods for controlling the compatibility and stability of IV cocktails, and a rapid method for carrying out the TLC was indicated. It was concluded that the method is useful for identifying inadvisable mixtures, but it is not a source of absolute compatibility judgment since physical-chemical interactions may occur even without changes in the parameters discussed.
