IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP The synthesis and antimicrobial activity of some N-substituted aza- and diazaphenylcycloalkanes are reported. All of the compounds showed significant antibacterial and antimycotic activities. Particularly, compounds of the N-(ethoxymethyl)phenylpiperidine series showed activity towards S. aureus 1.2-1.9 times that of ampicillin. The microbiological results indicate that the later activity depends on the position of the phenyl-substituent.
