Abstract
BIOSIS COPYRIGHT: BIOL ABS. A method for the determination of organotin compounds in water by Solid Phase Microextraction (SPME) has been developed. The compounds are derivatizated with sodium tetraethylborate (STEB), extracted by a SPME fiber covered with a 100 pm polydimethylsiloxane coating and desorbed into the splitless injector of a gas chromatograph (GC) coupled with a mass selective detector (MS). Sub-ppb detection limits have been obtained and calibration curves were linear in the range investigated (1-50 ppb). Analyses of spiked river water prove the suitability of the method.
