IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP The case histories of 2 patients (aged 60 yr and 73 yr) treated with long term 100 mg flecainide (I) twice daily for congestive heart failure and ventricular arrhythmias were presented due to an unexpected prolongation of I plasma half-life and worsening of the left ventricular function. Due to the increase in plasma half-life, it was suggested that a reduction in dosage be considered in individual congestive heart failure patients treated with long term I.
