Abstract
PESTAB. Eighteen men and 20 women were treated with Tenutex for scabies infections. Tenutex contains DDT, disulfiram and benzyl benzoate. A second group of patients was treated with a similar emulsion, lacking only the DDT component. The results of this study verify the already known beneficial effect of treatment with Tenutex for scabies. Both preparations were effective in this treatment. It is suggested that, since the effects of percutaneous absorption of DDT in man have not been fully studied, the unnecessary application of this chemical for such treatment as described in this article be avoided.
