Abstract
IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP A case of a pruritic rash due to vancomycin (I) in a 7-yr-old patient who was given intravenous I, 250 mg every 6 h, as part of a drug regimen to combat a serious Staphylococcus aureus infection is presented. The dosage schedule used to desensitize the patient to allow continuation of I therapy is described and literature discussing potential I adverse drug reactions is also highlighted.
