Viscosities (η), densities (p) and ultrasonic velocities (U) have been measured at 303.15, 308.15 and 313.15 K for the ternary systems of propanone, butan-2-one and pentan-2-one with the binary mixtures of cyclohexane and 1-propanol. Using these measured values, adiabatic compressibility (b), free length (Lf), internal pressure (πi), acoustic impedance (Z), Gibb's free energy (ΔG) and their excess values for all the three systems have been calculated. The behaviour of these parameters with composition of the mixture has been discussed in terms of molecular interactions between the components of liquids. Moreover, the experimental values of ultrasonic speeds were compared with those calculated by using Nomoto's relation, ideal mixture relation and impedance dependence relation. The suitability of these theories and relations in reproducing the experimental ultrasonic speed has also been studied.
