Abstract
1. The oxidative dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene and cyclohexane on rhenium oxide catalysts proceeds 10-30 times more rapidly than simple dehydrogenation. 2. Rhenium oxide and the oxidative condensation products (OCP) act additively in the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene to increase the conversion of this hydrocarbon and the yield of styrene. 3. The addition of rhenium oxide to vanadium-magnesium systems increases their activity and selectivity in the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene and suppresses extensive oxidative reactions. 1987 Plenum Publishing Corporation.
