Abstract
IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP The effects of sodium sulfate (I) and propylene glycol (II) on flocculation of sulfamerazine (III) suspensions and mineral oil (IV) emulsions, both of which were stabilized by polysorbate 40 (Tween 40; V), are presented. Stabilities of suspensions and emulsions were assessed using the sedimentation volume and the relative cream volume, respectively. None of the emulsions inverted or cracked. Changes in both suspension and emulsion properties (flocculation) took place at |LE/5% and |LE/40% of I and II, respectively.
