Abstract
IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP To develop a stable pediatric oral solution of spironolactone, a 2.5 mg/ml spironolactone solution containing 20% ethyl alcohol (ethanol), 10% propylene glycol, and glycerin (glycerol) to 100% was prepared and stored in amber glass bottles at 4, 19, and 37DGC for up to 16 months. The product was stable at 4DGC for 16 months and at 19DGC for 2 months. Rapid degradation occurred at 37DGC.
