HAPAB The high level of residues which appear in preplanting soil samples ( no detectable aldrin at 10 ppb, and an average of 315 ppb of dieldrin are attributed to an application of dieldrin 6 years earlier. The addition of rice seed treated with 0.25 pounds of aldrin per 100 pounds of seed raised the postplanting soil residue levels to 941 ppb of aldrin but there was no significant rise in dieldrin residue levels. Post-harvest soil samples yielded less than 20 ppb of aldrin and 400-420 ppm of dieldrin. Crawfish reared in paddies planted with treated or nontreated seed and on soil containing up to 200 ppb of aldrin and 500 ppb of dieldrin contained residues of aldrin, dieldrin, and DDE. 67/01/00, 7 1966
