PESTAB. Studies were presented in which graphitized chromatography columns were used to separate chlorinated hydrocarbons. Glass columns were pre-coated with graphitized carbon black. Stationary phase loadings added to the columns ranged from 0.04 mg/m to 0.16 mg/m. The lengths of the experimental columns ranged from 15 to 70 m. A mixture of 15 pesticides was subjected to gas chromatography on all columns under the same conditions. The results indicated that the thickness of the coating in graphitized capillary columns is a dominant variable. Columns with low loading stationary phases operate as gas liquid solid chromatography. Columns with high loadings act as gas liquid type chromatography.
