IPA COPYRIGHT: ASHP To analyze the efficacy of 2 topical drugs, heparin sodium and pentosan polysulfate sodium, in the treatment of 2 superficial venous pathologies: superficial thrombophlebitis and subcutaneous hematoma, a double-blind study was conducted in 4 groups of patients on the basis of the 2 medication therapies and the 2 conditions. The results did not show a statistically significant difference in the case of traumatic hematoma. Significant differences were found when comparing both drugs in the treatment of superficial thrombophlebitis.
