Abstract
Asbestos, which is considered a hazardous air pollutant under the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants, is a growing health concern and has generated a market for the analysis of airborne asbestos. The asbestos hazard and regulatory climate and the comparison of transmission electron microscopy with conventional methods are discussed.
