Abstract
A new pathway for the preparation of benzoxazolinone using o-nitrophenol and CO directly is presented. The general procedure involves o-nitrophenol, Se, 1,8-diazabicyclo undecene, Et, and solvent introduced to stainless autoclave, which was pressurized with CO, and placed in the oil bath preheated to reaction temperature. The reaction system was stirred, after the completion of the reaction, the solvent was evaporated, the crude product was purified by fast chromatography (EtOAc/hexanes = 3:5) to yield the desired product.
