Abstract
Most solid cast explosives which are sensitive to detonators and applied as primer or booster, are made of molecular explosives such as PETN, RDX, and TNT or a mixture of them like Pentolite or Composition B. Their production includes melting cast of molecular explosives, and melting, cast and mould processes are of inherent risks and cannot be separated from each other due to high temperature and presence of molecular explosive.ln this paper, a solid cast mixture is introduced. All of its primary components are non explosive and can be produced easily. It lets us to carry out mixing, cast and mould in ambient temperature. It is not sensitive to detonator before and during mixing of components and at least half an hour before cast, and only after these processes it will be sensitive to detonator. Safe booster and primer are of the properties range as below, considering variety of formulation. Density: 1.5-1.8 gr/cm(3), Detonation speed: 5500-6900 m/s, Relative power, in ratio to Picric Acid: 85-105, Sensitivity to shock: 4-14 Nm, Sensitivity to explosion wave: 5-12 cm, Hass test: 20-27 mm, Sensitivity to friction : 100-300 N, Lead bloc: 260-300 cm(3)/10g. Safe booster can be applied as booster, primer and seismographic explosives. This material has been produced repeatedly and performance tests have been carried out successfully, which are presented in the paper.
