Ultrasonic velocity measurements on transition and lanthanide metal myristates have been carried out in 70/30 benzene-methanol mixture (v/v) in order to determine the critical micellar concentration, soap solvent interactions and various acoustic and thermodynamic parameters. The results have been discussed in terms of different theories of ultrasonic wave propagation and Jacobson's model has also been used to calculate adiabatic and molar compressibilities intermolecular free length, solvation number, relative association, relaxation strength and molar sound velocity. The results of ultrasonic measurements have also been explained in terms of various well known equations.
