Aromatic polyester (AP) based on polyarylate was synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, NMR, and thermal analysis techniques. The synthesized AP was blended with different rubbers namely NR, SBR, NBR, and EPDM with ratio 70 phr rubber and 30 phr AP. These blends were compatibilized with 2 phr styrene monomer aiming to improve the compatibility of such blends. The blend characteristics were evaluated by TGA, DSC, SEM and physico-mechanical properties. The obtained data showed good compatibility with the implementation of styrene monomer as compatibilizer in rubber/AP blends as can be seen from SEM micrographs. As a result the physico-mechanical properties were improved. This can be attributed to the creation of crosslink between AP and rubber by styrene in presence of DCP as initiator. These findings were proved by swelling index and stress relaxation measurements
