Abstract
The pretreatment performed on two fibrous acrylic polymers (85% acrylonitrile + 15% vinyl acetate and 85% acrylonitrile + 10% vinyl acetate + 5% alpha methyl, styrene) witha series of basics compounds (hydroxyl amine, ethylene diamine, hydrazine and urea) in the presence of additives. (NaOH, H(2)O(2) and ethylene carbonate) had changed the chemical structure, by inserting a positive charge. The structural modification is highlighted, using the IR specters of the pretreated samples, by color strength values achieved after a subsequent dyeing with an acid dyestuff, by good resistance to treatments and abrasion, as well as by superior physical-mechanical indexes.
