Abstract
The copper-catalyzed Heck reaction of acrylic ester or styrene with aryl halide gave the coupling products in good to excellent yields in aqueous two-phases system in 75 similar to 85 degrees C by using L-proline as a ligand. This method provides a new simple and inexpensive access to the Heck reaction. The structures of the products were confirmed by using spectroscopic techniques such as IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR and comparing their melting points with known literature.
