Abstract
N-methyl-p-phenylene diamine and ep-oxidized oil were reacted together to produce an adduct (Am Ep). This adduct was used with ethylene propylene diene rubber (EPDM) and acrylonitrile rubber (NBR) blend to enhance different properties of this blend. It was found that, the prepared adduct improved the blend compatibility, the thermal stability and the mechanical characteristics of the blend under investigation. Compatibilization was investigated using differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results revealed that the optimum ratio of (Am-Ep) as a compatibilizer is 7.5phr.
